In addition to his background in composing music for the stage, John also has an extensive background in orchestration, having worked for numerous orchestras as well as acting as composer and orchestrator for several organizations.

Selections from John's musical, "The Count of Monte Cristo," received their concert premier, performed by the 200 voice Chorus of Westerly, the 65 piece Pops Festival Orchestra, and a soloist from Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera, under the baton of Maestro Andrew Howell for a 25,000 member audience. Recently, the musical received a reading at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
